Natural Breast Augmentation
What is Natural Breast Augmentation?
This is also known as natural breast enlargement, natural breast enhancement, natural breast implants. It is the is use of your own body fat to create full, natural breasts without the use of silicone or saline breast implants.
Who is a candidate for Natural Breast Augmentation?
Any woman who has considered breast augmentation or a breast lift, but does not want to do so with an artificial implant is an excellent candidate for this procedure. This procedure avoids the potential issues associated with saline or silicone implants such as encapsulation, rippling, leaking, or deflation. Candidates include:
- Any woman who is healthy.
- Women with normal mammograms
- Women with sufficient body fat for the procedure.
- Those considering breast enlargement of one or two cup sizes.
- Breast lift or reduction patients who want more upper breast fullness
Hybrid Breast Procedures
These are breast procedures that use both breast implants and fat grafting to obtain the best results. The fat is placed in areas to fill and help reshape the chest or breast that is cannot be treated by an implant, or the patient prefers correction with fat. These may include:
- Chest contour problems such as pectus excavatum (sunken chest) or pectus carinatum (pigeon chest).
- Problems of implants including: rippling, visible edges, asymmetries
- Breast lift or reduction that need more upper chest fullness.
- Breast lift that needs more volume
How is this procedure performed?
- Liposuction is used to obtain the fat.
- The breast can be shaped as needed which is not possible with an implant.
- The fat is injected through small needle holes in the skin: incisions are not needed
- Because there is no implant, we avoid problems of contracture, leaking, and deflation
- Recovery time is quick and complications rare.
As a general rule, surgeons with extensive experience in grafting large volumes of fat are most likely to obtain the best results. We believe only surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery should perform fat transfer. This ensures that your surgeon has advanced knowledge and technical familiarity, but also the subtle anatomy and aesthetics of breast enhancement surgery.
Complications of fat grafting.
Fat grafting is a generally safe procedure with few problems. Loss of volume after the procedure or increased volume with weight gain. Fat necrosis which can result in cysts, scar tissue, calcifications, lumps. Infection is very rare. About 50% of fat grafted cells will remain as living fat cells with Natural Breast Augmentation. When PRP (platelet rich plasma) is added, this may increase the survival of the fat cells.
