How long does otoplasty take?
Most ear surgery procedures take approximately 1–2 hours depending on complexity.
Will there be visible scars?
Incisions are typically placed behind the ear or within natural ear contours, making scars very discreet once healed.
Is otoplasty permanent?
Yes. The reshaping of the cartilage provides long-lasting, permanent results.
When can I return to normal activities?
Most patients return to school or work within one week. Strenuous activity and contact sports should be avoided for approximately six weeks.
Is ear surgery safe?
Otoplasty is a commonly performed procedure with a low complication rate when performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Horowitz reviews all potential risks during consultation.
